With designer Lucy Williams I experimented with different paper film viewers: a mutoscope out of the oil filter from a Jaguar and a version of the cinematique jouet, an optical toy made in 1900s. For Tower Hamlets, we used Flipbookit's do it yourself split-flap machines.

Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park Consultation and Workshops
In October and November I will be in residence in the Park, teaching workshops and consulting with the people who use it, as research for a permanent or semi-permanent artwork for the Park. This project is part of current research and development exploring ideas around ‘invisible’ navigation and
gps triggered mechanical objects.
This project is facilitated by Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, produced by Home Live Art and is funded through by Grants for the Arts.
Workshops: Moving-image portraits of the Park using Stop Motion photography
What do you imagine on your journeys through the Park? Where do your feet and thoughts lead you?
In this workshop we will go for a walk, then have a go at making moving image portraits of the Park, exploring simple special effects, time-lapse and tracking shots. Bring your camera or camera phone, a tripod if you have one, and a way of transferring the photos to a PC (USB lead or SD card).
FREE
Open to anyone who can work a camera.
Children up to 14 years old should be accompanied by an adult.
Dates to be announced.
Take the Artist for a Walk
I will be working in the Park in the first week of November and would like to invite people to take me on a walk along their favourite routes through. This could last from ten minutes to half an hour and will be a loose walking conversation about why we choose some paths rather than others and experiences we’ve had walking. Families, school-runners, workers, dog-walkers, lovers, loiterers, all welcome.
Contact me at [email protected] if you have a route or a story about the Park to share.
Work dates to be announced.
